Manual installation:

Upload the City Informer folder to the /wp-content/themes/ directory

Installation using “Add New Theme”

  1. 1. From your Admin UI (Dashboard), use the menu to select Themes -> Add New.
  2. 2. Search for City Informer.
  3. 3. Click the ‘Install’ button to open the theme’s repository listing.
  4. 4. Click the ‘Install’ button.

Activation and Use

Activate the Theme through the ‘Themes’ menu in WordPress

Slider

In order to add a new slide, enter the create/edit post mode on WordPress Administration Screens. You will see the “Add to slider” field under the entered text. Check the box, and the image from the “featured image” field, the header and a part of your post will be added to the slider.
There is no limit to the number of slides in the slider.
The slider itself is located on the frontpage and consists of three parts: title (title of post), image (featured image of post), description (short description typed into the text-field in the metabox “Slider Settings”).

Post Thumbnail Functionality

To post thumbnails, we recommend using the image with the width equal to 560px.

Widgets

The Theme includes a standart Widget.

How are custom headers displayed?

The Custom header block has a height equal to 100px and is displayed on top of the Theme between the Site name block and Hello message block.

How can I change the language from English into Russian?

WordPress v4.0 and above:
Change the language in the admin settings screen. Settings > General > Site Language.

WordPress v3.9.2 and below:
In the main catalog of your WordPress site, please find wp-config.php file, open it and change define( 'WPLANG', '' ); for define( 'WPLANG', 'ru_RU' );

Does the theme support widgets?

Yes, this theme includes widgets. The following widgets are shown by default: search, recent posts, recent comments, archives, categories.
